SEO V Social Media Marketing?

SEO and Social Media Marketing there is no contradiction in being a digital marketer in recent years.  The two terms have been redefined as one, and the information systems and methods are there to suggest that. Most of us find it difficult to distinguish between Social Media and SEO. The idea behind each term is very different and hence the differences in terminology. Social media According to Alan Cooper, co-founder of Good Company Inc and a Google consultant said “Social Media is all about community building”. It is a medium where like-minded people congregate to share common interest and life experiences with each other. Because they use similar terminology, it is sometimes difficult to comprehend the difference between the two. Let me try to explain it this way.

Social Media

Social Media as a term refers to information sharing platforms. These are applications that allow members of a certain community share, update, view and discuss content around a common interest. Users of Social Media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok and WhatsApp, all upload and share information about their everyday lives and this includes the media they upload or consume. These platforms also help people search for information.

Social Media provides a forum for dialogue and debate on a wide range of subjects such as politics, culture, fashion, health, music, and social justice. In short, Social Media allows people to connect with others with similar interests and values.” For internet marketers and website owners, the purpose of Social Media is to grow an organic audience on these platforms. However, there is no need for these people to like you or follow you if you are not useful to them or relevant to the topic or industry you are talking about. For example, an e-commerce website, while doing their SEO or web design, needs to identify and pay more attention to the people who visit their website and shop on their website.

An online shop owner should know their target audience and the segments that visit their website. Social Media is another popular medium for social networking and image sharing. While these social networking platforms are not necessarily the same, they all share similar benefits.

SEO

SEO refers to Search Engine Optimisation, the method of improving web presence through keyword research and implementing the right website design in order to improve a website’s visibility and rank on search engine results.

SEO or search engine marketing is the methodology of using and implementing websites and their content to gain visibility in Google search results. The purpose of this type of SEO is to get the website ranked in the top results in order to increase conversions and to generate income for the website owner.

These days, there are so many methods of SEO including content marketing and link building. SEO is very important for businesses and companies to be able to succeed in the web world because of the dominance of search engines.

All in all, it is important for anyone in the field of software development, web development, web design and website design, to understand SEO because they have become very common practices. It is important to be aware of these practices because they can lead to getting one’s website ranked higher on the search engine results page.

In Conclusion

No matter what they are called, both Social Media and SEO are very important in today’s world and are in use for most businesses and web developers. These practices will help your website to be seen by search engines, rank higher, and generate a lot of income. So, what are you waiting for? Try them out and you will surely be amazed by the results.
